How do I handle overnight shifts?
Enter start (e.g. 22:00) and end (e.g. 06:00), then tick 'End is next day'. The calculator adds 24 hours to the end time automatically.
What are decimal hours for?
Payroll and billing — 7h 30m = 7.50 hours. Multiply by hourly rate directly, no minute math.
Why is the duration wrong by an hour sometimes?
Daylight saving changes. This calculator measures clock time; on DST switch days, add or subtract the hour manually.
Can I span multiple days?
This tool is for within-24h durations. For multi-day spans, use the Date Calculator's time mode or add 24h per extra day.
